Visited Helsinki last weekend. Lots of snow around; the first day when we arrived there were piles of snow, but by the second day everything was covered in snow! I hadn’t been in the snow since I was a kid – so I acted like a kid, walking through the snow, jumping in it, kicking the ice and staring at it for ages. It’s a great thing when you get to see something new and fresh; you just keep staring – literally, I could’ve stared at it for hours on end. Now, i’m just staring at the photographs of snow.

I’m surprised at how snow is when it falls though – I always had this perception that it fell and it was already soft, but it’s icy cold and sharp – but tiny. When it hits you it tickles – was literally having giggle fits in the middle of the street while walking in between cursing that it kept getting into my eyes. But, it was so amazing. I can’t decide whether I like snow or rain better; though I do know I prefer the sound of falling rain and watching it fall down windows.

Visited the Design Museum yesterday – it wasn’t such a great museum in terms of layout but it did have some amazing posters. I think my favourite posters would have to be the ones in relation to flights and transport. Such cool typography in all of them!

I can’t believe we’re on the 3rd last week in Copenhagen. We’re doing 2 more competitions (I think there’s a 3rd optional one) before leaving, so the last couple of weeks here are going to be really intense and jam-packed. I can’t believe i’m leaving though, it’s been such an amazing experience. Thanks to everyone for supporting me, couldn’t have done it without you. And to those in Copenhagen, make sure we get together and have a farewell dinner or drinks before I leave – ’cause i’m going to miss you heaps!

The weather today was insane – ok, it wasn’t that bad. In fact, I love rain – but it was windy and extremely cold (like 2 degrees; compare that to the 40 degree weather in Melbourne atm. Ha-ha.). Can’t believe I even managed to get to school…but I was distracted – so distracted I left a bit early and went and visited the crown jewels in Rosenborg Slot. He-he. Totally worth it, they were so beautiful!

Must visit heaps more of the museums before I leave Copenhagen; there are so many! In terms of touristy things i’ve more just wandered around the streets, the boat tour on arrival, visited the State Parliament, climbed the Spiral Tower and experienced the night life. In the gift shop there was some cool jewellery; i’m still debating what jewellery to buy before leaving Copenhagen. Gotta’ get a ring or a bracelet or a necklace or earrings to remember the amazing time I had here.

Visited Louisiana Museum of Modern Art today – the light room was so amazing! Funniest thing happened though – I read the description and it said that water was on the ground and to be careful to only stand on the platform. I went inside, went down low on the platform and was like “THERE’S NO WATER!”. Turns out there was a very thin layer though on top of the glass. Didn’t look like it at all when I shined my camera light on it though.

Amazing museum – if you ever visit Denmark put it number 1 on your list! The light room is so beautiful; when I get home i’m going to re-do my room from a couple of years ago – re-put all the CD’s/mirrors up so they reflect the fairy lights in my room. Can’t wait, gonna’ put up all the photo’s from my Europe trip too. Ah! Exciting. But, still 6 more weeks remaining, it’s going to be awesome and i’m gonna’ make the most of it!

Since coming to Copenhagen, I have realised how much there is in the world to experience; although Melbourne is such an amazing place – seeing the whole world is even better! I have experienced only a tiny amount and i’m really looking forward to travelling the world – exploring, gaining knowledge and using everything I see as a form of inspiration!

I have so many new goals set for 2012 and I can’t wait to start working on them. However, I think most of the goals I have set for 2012 are more of Life Goals and goals that I want to work on for a couple of years rather then immediately; so hence, the following list will be a list of goals I want to achieve in the coming years!

• Travel the World: especially Europe, Asia & Africa. I really want to explore the world, I want to have many new experiences, meet new people and get to know about different cultures. I will be travelling a bit of Europe at the end of my exchange program here (however it will be in the Winter, so I have to come back in the Summer time). The thing I want to see most after Europe though is a floating lantern festival in Asia!

• Live in different countries: London, New York, Silicon Valley – San Francisco & Emeryville – California. Even if it’s for just half a year doing internships, I really want to live in different parts of the world. London as it is a beautiful city and part of Europe (meaning more access to travelling Europe), New York as I want to know why it’s hyped up so much, Silicon Valley because it’s massive with startup and technology companies and Emeryville in California because it’s where Pixar Studios is located.

• Blog: Blogging has opened me up to so many experiences and I feel much more comfortable with myself as a person; I have gained a lot of confidence with who I am and my beliefs. Anything that I write down on my blog – i’m more likely to commit to and achieve. I want to continue blogging throughout the future – even if it changes into something new; I just always want to write down what i’m doing in order to make a record. Blogging is like an online diary to me – which I can share with others; it’s sort of a community as it gives me an opportunity to share, to entertain and to be entertained.

• Improve Reading, Writing, Drawing, Photography skills: I really want to work on creating content and exploring different methods when it comes to all of these. When it comes to observing other works I also really want to pay more attention – analyse to the max, get underneath the surface and into those deeper meanings. 

• Print Photographs & Create a Photo Wall: I have so many photographs lying around at home since when I was a kid and so many starting in Highschool, which are yet to be printed. Since I got my DSLR after highschool i’ve taken over 20,000 pictures with it! I really need to print out heaps of the photographs and create a photo wall – to remind me of all the amazing memories and to inspire myself.

• Learn the Adobe Suite: I really want to learn how to use all the Adobe Programs properly – shortcuts and all. I want to be a wizz when it comes to using the programs so when it comes to designing something I don’t have to waste time searching up how to do something in a program – I can just do what I love instead.

• Fix up my Website: I want to make my identity more clear (To my readers – i’m not a boy! SURPRISE! Ha-ha.), using my own personal design (whether bought or created by myself), put everything into clearer categories and spend more time working on blog posts; not posting random shit just to fill spaces!

• Get Organised: Lists, Planning, etc. In 2012 I want to be more organised then 2011. Everything will be placed in a calendar on my computer and synced up through my Apple products, events and plans written into diaries and everything recorded down, so I don’t forget all the amazing things i’ve done this year.

• Eat Healthier: Drink water – even if it tastes weird. I’ve never really loved drinking water, but i’ve slowly become accustomed to the taste; that being said it tastes weird in different places all over the world. For example, in Melbourne it’s more chlorinated and in Denmark it tastes like it has more calcium. Also, drink green tea, and try cutting out meats everyday – eat more like a vegetarian.

• Wash makeup brushes more often: Pretty self-explanatory. Think of all the germs you’re putting onto your face when you don’t wash your brushes regularly. Gotta’ stop being lazy and wash them way more often. 

• Be Outgoing: Get more social, be open to new experiences, say “Yes” more often then “No”. In other words, not sitting around and doing nothing – living! This is going to be my final year of University after all – can’t waste a minute; apparently University is the best years of your life! 

• Volunteer: Throughout 2011 I started my volunteering journey and it was amazing. I really want to help out more with charities – it’s such a rewarding experience. You get to give back to the community and have fun while doing it.

• Get an Internship: Work for an Advertising Agency, get to know how it functions and start making connections within the Advertising Industry. I am not sure whether or not I would like to work for a bigger or smaller company yet – but there are a few agencies which I have my eye on for internships. Must fix up the resume, write some cover letters, talk to teachers for advice and then submit my applications.
